Living in a small town has tons of advantages. Like seeing someone you know every single time you go to the grocery store looking like crap.
But living in Rapid really does have perks. The downtown area has been completely revitalized and it’s always so much fun to hang out.
One of our favorite spots is Who’s Toy Store. The owner calls Claire, “Claire Bear” and Caeden, “Cade.” She always makes them feel like a million bucks, even when we spend just six. Love her. Love her store.
And so the other day, we went to get a present for a friend and it was one of those days when we took our time and took pictures. Looked around the store at leisure. Enjoyed the slow pace of life we’ve been looking for.
And while she is super shy about having her picture taken, she loved that I was snapping them in the store. The prettiest toy store I’ve ever been in, mind you.
The itty bitty finger puppets are Claire’s birthday present (Sunday). She loved them. And I loved how clueless she was when we had them wrapped up and set aside.
There’s a little puppet theater that goes with it, too. Can’t wait for her to unwrap it!
Are you tired of these two, yet? They’re growing up right in front of your eyes, huh?
This afternoon I was cleaning and organizing Caeden’s room and found his baby books. The first two years are all handwritten, water colored, and include pictures here and there. Lovely and I know someday he will love them (or his wife – who am I kidding?), but blogging is like a story book staring them. Love that thought.
Our summer break has officially began.
Here’s to ease, and sunshine. Music and playful days. Bubbles and toy store runs.
Here’s to a brand new season. We intend to make the most of it.
