{ small town love }

This morning I was driving around aimlessly as Claire had fallen asleep on her way to her Doctor’s appointment. Went through Starbucks and someone ahead of me had paid for my coffee. The Starbucks Server said the ‘pay it forward’ had been going strong for awhile. Been smiling all morning long. It’s just astonishing how much a little thing can make a person feel something much larger. Kindness just has a way of ballooning, doesn’t it?

And in a town where people hold the doors for each other, smile, give the nod while passing on deserted two lane roads, and actually look you in the eye …

Well. Feeling lucky to be apart of a community like this.

Wondering who it was that started it? You’re totally responsible for good moods all across Rapid City today. Well, at least with the caffeine addicted crowd.

XO.

(p.s. reminds me of jess and linz yesterday, too. jess showed up to linz’s house with a latte and a cupcake just because. Just because. The ultimate act of kindness.)

Thanks for posting this. Just reading about your great day and the acts of kindness gave me goosebumps and cheered me up, looks like you did your job of paying it forward as well. Now I’m looking for my own way to pay it forward today.

That’s happened to me a couple of times at Starbucks. It creeped me out the first time and of course, the car in front of me was long gone! I’ve wondered if it’s something they just do for their regular customers.

Love it! Totally get the feeling – had someone pay for mine a couple of weeks ago at SB drive-thru on Lincoln. It made my entire day!

I just did it on my way to work this morning! It makes me smile to do it–I really hope it makes that person’s day a little bit brighter. It’s a nice little smile for me too…
