Let me reintroduce Finley. Our elf who has been with us for 3 years – reappearing Dec 1 through Christmas morning.

2 kids vs. Mama and Fin.

So much easier to control two fighting siblings when I can threaten that Fin will tell Santa everything.

Maybe Fin isn’t supposed to be used to win my parental battles, but c’mon. I’m out numbered without him.

Welcome back, old friend.

Also, came across this letter that a very smart woman wrote to her daughter regarding the truth about Santa.

Holding onto this tight because I know someday Fin and Santa and everything else will be questioned, and this response is spot on.

My boys have Finley’s identical twin, “Elfie”, who is new to our home this year. (My 5 year old named him!) I feel the same way – that poor little Elf is used to help win my parental battles, too. I love the letter you included…I just might have to use that one when things start to become questioned! I wonder if there’s one out there for the tooth fairy…? The Easter Bunny…? haha.

I’ve seen this letter in a few places this year. I’m saving it for my kids. It’s beautiful. It makes me cry.

I suppose my children’s Elf, Rudy is Fin and Elfie’s kindred spirit. I just love the letter too. Love the sentiment that it’s all bigger than we are. Thanks again Val!

hey valerie! you should let finley ‘roll the bathroom! it is sooo much fun to see their faces! i thought you might enjoy this little mom ‘share’!
p.s. we always hang it from the lights and have him sitting there on the sink with the roll in his hand with the tissue still attached! caden would love it, if you haven’t already done it!
