{ fulton attic … }

You get here through Cade’s room. He protects it fiercely but shows it off without hesitation. It’s huge and perfect for imaginations. For toy cars and playing dress up. The floors are perfect. The little nooks beg for old crates with attached caster wheels to slide in and out. It needs a railing to negate an accident by the stairs, but other than that …

It just waits patiently for two little chickens that talk about it non-stop. The attic, a favorite topic at the dinner table and at bedtime.

Cade, explaining that he would LOVE to help me out with my lack of storage in my bedroom, but he has to decline storing my clothes up here as he has grand plans.

Something about his Polar Express Train at Christmas.

He knows just what to say to his Mama to melt her and make her concede.

Promise to be tougher someday.

But just not today.

(Need something like this railing built first thing. Claire and I are so clumsy and I know at least one of us would dive right off the edge if given the opportunity.)

Cannot even explain how much I’d love to do this for Claire. Her own little corner to dream and play and be. We all need one.

Without living in the house, I have no idea how practical it would ever be to convert the attic to a guest bedroom but I love the twin beds. Super cozy.

We’re a family of readers, and I love the idea of installing trim along the low (and mostly unusable) part of the wall to display books.

Love the “dream house” idea. Think I need one of those for my girls:)

Swooning. I’ve always loved attic ceilings. Our son’s was converted into a barn…red walls with white barn trip and a dark brown ceiling. His tractors, cars and toys go perfectly in his little barn.
