{ Chocolate: The Wonder Drug. }

As promised, yesterday after school was baking time. On the way home from school Caeden settled on chocolate chip cookies. Thank goodness as I didn’t have it in me to do anything fancy or complicated.

My offer of baking is really more of a token. He knows not to push for a layered cake or anything requiring too many steps at 4:00 in the afternoon.

And, THAT is why I love him.

Almond extract is the secret to my chocolate chip cookies. Not going to post the rest of the recipe because I live high enough up in the air, that for all of you living in normal attitudes, it won’t work.

And then I would have no creditably and we don’t want that now, do we?

Oh, the other thing I do. Use mini chips AND normal sized. Can you stand how fancy this all is?!

Come to Mama. Baked cookies do absolutely nothing for me. But cookie dough? Take one look at my thighs and you will discover the basis of a love hate relationship.

Okay. In this day and age, you all know about the silpat mat, right? Please tell me you do.  They are made in France so the cool factor alone is worth having them in your baking arsenal. But really, they are wonderful because they protect your cookies from burning and eliminate the need for greasing your pans.

Excuse this sorry attempt at a picture. Did something funky with editing last night and was too lazy to fix it. (I’m still on break as a photographer, so this is allowed, just so you know).

Even my little crocodile was pleased.
